How the package is defined
CAD to Revit, DWG to Revit and PDF to Revit are the same kind of work: the building is rebuilt as native Revit elements, not imported as linework. It is one of six RVTForm production services. Where a structured model or IFC export is required, that is agreed in the quotation. See CAD to BIM.
Questions
It means rebuilding existing 2D CAD drawings (DWG or DXF) and PDFs as a 3D Revit model, using Revit's standard wall, floor, roof, door and window categories. You get a native .RVT file you can open, edit and develop in Revit.
Both. Clear, scaled PDFs can be used as the source, although native CAD files usually allow faster and more accurate modelling. If you only have PDFs, any limitations are identified during review, before we quote.
Yes. The model is built using Revit's native element categories — not imported 2D linework — so walls, floors, roofs, doors and windows can be modified, tagged and scheduled by your own team after delivery.
It depends on the size and complexity of the building, the quality of the source drawings and the required level of detail. A proposed delivery date is confirmed in writing with the quotation, before any work begins.
The version you specify. Confirm it before work begins so the finished .RVT opens correctly in your office.
Obvious gaps, conflicts or ambiguities are raised before or during modelling. We will not make material design decisions without your confirmation. Reasonable assumptions are noted and sent back for review.
Because it is built with native Revit categories rather than 2D linework, it can be used for basic 3D coordination, sectioning and sheet generation. If you need IFC export or a specific level of development for coordination with other disciplines, that should be confirmed in the scope.
Price depends on building size and complexity, how complete the drawings are, the required level of detail and the turnaround. We review each job and issue a fixed quotation before any work begins.
